Janet joined the Newport staff in 2002. She taught English and Journalism for twelve years at schools in New Mexico and Maryland. After receiving her certification in Guidance and Counseling from the Maryland State Department of Education she worked for thirteen years as a guidance counselor in Maryland high schools.
