Mrs. Jones has been at The Newport School 24 out of her 41 years of teaching. Her experience is as diverse as the areas where she has taught; from pre-school director for 10 years at Amherst College to a year at Montessori in Madison Wisconsin to 4 years of public school in Seattle, Washington. She is best-known at Newport for her unusual approach to teaching science to nursery through grade four students as a hand-on and hands-in approach. Mrs. Jones was honored at the Center For Talented Youth Fellow in 2003 from Johns Hopkins University.
