Danielle Schaefer, Latin; Italian

Danielle Schaefer graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude with a BA in Greek and Latin from Catholic University. At Catholic Mrs. Schaefer was the recipient of the Martin McGuire Scholarship in Classical Studies and the Bernard Mann Peebles Price for Excellence in Classical Greek. Frequent trips to Italy during her college years sparked an interest in Italian language and culture which she has continued to develop. A Newport graduate, Mrs. Schaefer returned to her alma mater in 1997 as an ancient Greek, Latin, and Italian teacher. After a brief hiatus, she is very happy to be a part of the Newport community once again. This year she will be teaching Latin and Italian. Mrs. Schaefer is married and has four children. In her free time she enjoys swimming, lifting weights, and baking artisan-style bread. She will complete a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction this May.
